| Upstage have also been responsible for many refurbishments of Drama
Studios, Halls and School Theatres. For many of these, we were able to
be involved from the early stage of planning, contributing to
discussions about layout, acoustics and lighting positions. Working with
the architects, specifiers and builders, as well as the end-user,
Upstage will supply drapes and tracking systems, internally wired
lighting bars, dimmer and lighting control systems, sound and lighting
equipment.
With over 30 years
experience in professional theatre behind us, we feel we can offer lots
of expert advice and support, but also believe that value for money and
practicality are very important considerations. With this in mind, our
main criteria when quoting are as follows:-
- We always
recommend you have a basic infrastructure in place that is safe and
easy to use. What is the use of supplying lighting equipment if there
is insufficient power available, or nowhere to hang the lanterns?
- We will consider
the best use of your funds for the future. In many cases investing in
new curtains and tracks may be more cost effective than spending money
on a new lighting rig. You can always hire lighting equipment in when
you needed it and phase in the purchase of items when you have more
funds available.
- We want to give
you value for money. In this respect we do not necessarily recommend
the cheapest items. We would rather specify equipment from reputable
manufacturers, which is purpose built for the job, will perform
reliably and will last a long time under demanding conditions.
- We will never
sell you something you can't use but we want to make sure you have
considered everything you might need. There is little point in
budgeting for specialist equipment only to find you need to buy lots
of cables in addition.
- We endeavour to
assist you in every possible way, but it is your project and it is
your opinion that counts. We will be happy to quote for any equipment
you specify at our best possible prices.
